The fabric is made of imported Spanish full-grain sheepskin, 0.7mm thick. Due to the larger back panel size, all pieces of leather were sourced in larger sizes, increasing costs. The leather is black on the outside and white on the inside. The whiteness of the leather was compared to the Y-pattern. The sheepskin blank was bleached for three hours with an additive to match the Y-pattern. The outer layer was machine-applied with a fully automatic water-based black gloss paint. After five days of natural air drying and coloring, the finished leather was washed. Laser engraving was used, scanning the Y-pattern's hand-refined 888S pattern to create the moiré pattern. Multiple pattern tests were conducted to refine the engraving. The time and temperature are carefully controlled, resulting in an extremely detailed floral pattern. Each piece takes up to 5 hours to carve, perfectly replicating the original Y-pattern. The pattern has a distinctly tactile feel, with a finely textured, raised surface.
